Engineering is a core branch of Engineering and is known to be ever green branch. At present, the department has an intake of 60 and faculty student ratio is 1:12.This branch of Engg. emphasizes on Design,Materials & manufacturing. Thermal Engg. and also interdisciplinary areas like CAD/CAM/CAE, Automation, Operations Research, Mechatronics, FEM, Managerial aspects of industry etc. By the time our students come to final year,the department will be unique in nature with an overall built-up area with sate of the laboratory facilities and the best of furniture for classrooms and laboratories. It will have exclusive dept. library& seminar hall with the best of AV facilities. Latest equipment with digitalized outputs & interfacing with computers will be an attractive feature. The dept. will have three computer labs & the facilities provided in the labs suit Research & Consultancy.
The department plans to have individual faculty rooms, with the best of faculty in the fields of Design,Thermal Engg, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Ind. Management etc. Participation of faculty in seminars/conference is a routine exercise. Students learn through guest lectures,conference & industrial visits. Students are encouraged to present papers, participate in technical quiz, & other co curricular activities. We implement intensive coaching for slow learners and the best of attention is paid to potential rank holders. The department attracts the cream of students in CET counseling & we get the best of VTU results with 100% success rate in many subjects. Project exhibition for final year students is an added advantage.
